Today's creator to appreciate is Squeak Dreams. It's a YouTube channel all about Guinea Pig behavior, care, and ownership. It's made by Sarah. The vlog also has a companion website.
A few weeks ago, I finally got Guinea Pigs of my own. But even before that, I had found Squeak Dreams and started watching videos to enjoy the piggies' cuteness (waiting for the time I'd have my own) and to learn about how to care for them. I was preparing to become a good GuineaDad.
Now that I have three little Guinea Piglets, I still find time to watch the YouTube channel. Much to learn, I still have! But sometimes when I watch, rather than learn something new, I get confirmation or encouragement that what I'm already doing or thinking about my piggies is correct. Doing what's right or best for the piggies is important to me.
Squeak Dreams videos are pretty short, I think averaging around ten minutes. They're informative, with explanations, descriptions, and instructions about Guinea Pig care and behavior. YouTuber Sarah has many years of experience to draw from, so you can also glean nice tips. Because they're videos, you're shown (not just told) what to do. Squeak Dreams is not merely a "talking head" video series.
Most of all, Squeak Dreams videos are super cute, and it's not just because you get to see and hear Guinea Pigs "wheek." The videos also feature fun little text overlays, kind of like chat bubbles, "interpreting" what the piggies are squeaking about. They're simple yet kind of clever and quite funny; it's fun!
I recommend Squeak Dreams if you just want to chill by watching Guinea Pigs popcorn and do zoomies. And if you're looking for good info about what it's like to own piggies, give it a try!
