Howdy, y’all. Woke up this morning, realized it’s August, and then saw a post that prompted me, at the last minute, to join Blaugust this year. Thanks to Aywren! This is my first ever participation in Blaugust. [cracks knuckles] Begin!
Intro
Though I’ve been blogging for years now, I wasn’t sold on Blaugust. Why? It just seemed like too big of a task, committing to a post everyday for 31 days straight. I like blogging mostly when the muse hits me upside the head. I also simply push myself to blog even when I don’t feel like it because, in the end, I’m always glad to stick with it. Oh, and the muse tends to fade away with all of life’s distractions (alternative options).
So I’m attempting to blog 31 days in a row this month. It won’t be easy, but it should be worth it. As always, I’ll blog about whatever, which means my usual topics. That said, I might lean more into the gaming topic this month as I’m also using Blaugust to help me re-focus on enjoying Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Some posts will likely not be the “Standard” format as I’m allowing myself to include “Asides.” They’re typically short, but they’re written words nonetheless. So this means I won’t count my “Image” posts as part of Blaugust.
Blaugust is a way to help me push myself and exercise my brain’s writing muscles. The goals:
- Enjoy the writing process more
- Write more long-form (not just microposts a.k.a. Asides)
- Enjoy Tears of the Kingdom
- Increase my blog stats (not gonna lie)
I normally don’t care too much about my blog stats. But I do at the moment because I recently restarted blogging on WordPress after over a year off. I was blogging on Blogger and Micro.blog instead. I want to reignite my blogosphere presence on WordPress, getting more involved in the Reader with other bloggers.
Outro
OK, I want to keep this short. So that’s all for now. Gotta save some for the next 30 days. (…marathon, not a sprint…)

Here’s to all your blogging endeavors this month - cheers!
